musicians, who can play for you at your wedding or other event. Midsummer
Music began with the Midsummer String Quartet, who play in many of the
most prestigious venues in Worcestershire and the surrounding counties.
Other colleagues from around the UK joined us to offer high quality music
and experience in setting just the right atmosphere be it a wedding,
corporate function or concert club.
Our quartets range from the conventional string quartet (2 violins, viola and cello) to quartet with flute (flute, violin, viola and cello). Repertoire spans the centuries from baroque through classical to jazz and light music of the present day. Whether it is background music for the wedding reception, music for the civil or church wedding ceremony, or music to listen to in a concert performance, you can rely on our experience to capture the mood. If the venue and weather permit we will move outside into the gardens, engendering the mood of a bygone splendor. For the smaller event or in classical surroundings, our flute and violin duo can provide a gentle musical backdrop. If you are looking for music for just the ceremony, one of our superb sopranos could make all the difference to your wedding ceremony, particularly if it is in a church or classical surroundings. Another popular instrument for wedding receptions is the harp. For small to medium guest numbers, the harp can have a charm all of its own. For the smaller wedding reception, but also very much for intimate dinners, our classical guitar and lute can set a magical atmosphere. Or if the venue permits, one of our pianists, offering a range of music from classical to jazz. We sometimes are asked for a church organist to play at church weddings. We have colleagues who are organists of national standing, so whether your wedding is in a village church or one of our magnificent cathedrals, we can provide you with an organist.
